Work in Investment and Development

Our vision for the next five years is to proactively and positively deliver our priorities by creating new residential homes that focus on a strong sense of place.

We aim to enable connected communities and promote a sustainable business destination, alongside leisure spaces that serve as key drivers of regeneration and long-term economic impact for Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole - enhancing BCP Council’s competitive position on a national scale.

The Investment and Development Directorate includes the following functions:

  • Regeneration Investment
  • Housing Delivery
  • Smart Place
  • Economic Development

As part of our regeneration programme, we are delivering the Boscombe Towns Fund initiative - a legacy Levelling Up-funded programme running until March 2027.

Within the Economic Development team, we also manage and deliver the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, which has been extended through to the end of the 2025/2026 financial year.

Helping our local community

We create new affordable homes to address homelessness and improve the cost of living. We build infrastructure to connect communities through our digital and Smart Place programme. We’re also improving public spaces and local high streets to make them safer, greener and more attractive for residents and visitors to the area.

Be the difference

The resident's voice is at the heart of our work. We co-design our built environment and we offer skills hub support to improve residents’ employability and life outcomes.

What we are proud of

We’re most proud of delivering over 100 new homes for residents, building public Wi-Fi to tackle social inequality and improve access to services, and advancing new creative projects across regeneration, economic development, and housing.

Our work is guided by our values and behaviours, fostering civic pride in our high streets by supporting local traders and investing where we can make a meaningful difference.
